First and foremost, we strive to inject everything we undertake with Quality - from the concept, through the design and drawings, down to the smallest detail.

This approach drives all we undertake by seeking to provide the best solution for our Client to the highest quality commensurate with their budget, brief and aspirations.

We believe that buildings ought to provide for the function with the form deriving from and expressing the function - but at the same time possess joy, delight and respond to the contextual setting of the site.

We therefore do not have a ‘house style’ because differing settings generates a style respecting the context. As a result all our projects have real human scale, with sensitive use of materials, and a wide range of styles.

Our objective is to get the "job done", fulfilling our Client's brief on time and within budget. We listen and learn from our Client's needs and hopes. We don’t impose a preconceived solution, but respond to our Client’s objectives by creative interpretation.

Our role is as leaders within a Team and this is echoed within our internal organisation. Our co-operative approach extends to projects where we work together with our associated UK practices.

 Final Objective

The ultimate aim, on completion of the project, is to provide for our Clients’ needs and enhancing their daily life by design.

While at the same time achieving a building that is a pleasure to use, a delight for our Client and for those who enjoy the benefits.

 Added Value

We believe that careful and creative design produces a building whose whole is greater than the sum of the parts.

In addition, we provide a commercial view extending to recommending alternative procurement routes, if project needs suggest, which can provide cost savings.

“I gave BDK Architects the almost impossible task of designing and planning a modern unique glass extension to our Grade I listed home. Through a mixture of inspirational design, an intimate knowledge of Planning regulations and laws together with a vast knowledge of modern technology and building products, Paul Harding and his team have produced a design brief of outstanding quality, enhancing a stately and beautifully proportioned detached house with a stunning 21st century solution without in any way detracting from or damaging the original structure. BDK’s team are to be congratulated for their interpretation of this difficult brief. ”
